Steelwork to the roof is almost complete, scaffolding to the roof is nearing completion and the unitised cladding started. Podium is nearing completion with the glazing and internal finishes rushing ahead.

The podium works are starting to speed up now most of the glass is installed.

The building has topped out with only the roof steelwork to be installed, followed by the cladding…. My Pièce de résistance … that will slowly be unveiled to the outside world. There are few renders of what is going to be constructed so the ‘public’ will have to wait as it is slowly constructed. Cannot wait for the party in September.

The shutters and screens are slowly being peeled back off the building, within the next month or so the ugly duckling will be transformed.

Commisioning and completion of the internal fitouts are well advanced.

Things are busy now..

The Level 33 slab is complete and the guys are prepping Level 34. Curtain wall is on Level 27, Carpets installed to Level 13, with the podium kicking off also.

Almost at the top! The view from 150m up..

The small derrick cranes you see to th south are on top of another Skyscraper being built next door.

Well it has been raining all day today – breaks up the monotony of the continual dry weeks. Work is going crazy; the core (where the lifts are contained) is up to Level 32, the slabs to Level 30 and Curtain Wall Level 21.

The podium is now a hive of activity, with Cladding and glazing occuring everywhere. The Plantroom walls on Level 14 are almost complete and the space is slowly getting filled up with plant.

Here are some of the latest photos showing the job from a different perspective. The Curtain Wall (glass) has now commenced on Level 21. Concrete to the core is up to Level 32 and the floor slabs up to Level 29.

So it has taken a while for everyone to warm back up. The end of the project is now visible and people can see the end.

Currently the slabs to level 28 are being poured, Curtain wall is being installed on Level 19 & the plant to Level 14 is being installed. The balance of the cladding on this floor will be finished within the next couple of weeks. The contrast of the anodised louvres and zinc cladding to the main walls is pretty impressive.

Work on the podium floors has kicked off with avengence with a reasonable amount of steelwork, cladding and glazing started. Internal finishes to the low rise floors are going well.

With Xmas drawing near work is almost in a state of flux. On one hand everyone is trying to complete what they can, on the other they are all slowly winding down for the break which everyone needs.

The main George Street crane was jumped again on Saturday and part of the Awning Installed. The balance of which will be completed in the coming days. Scaffolding is almost complete on Level 14 and has started being dismantled in a flurry. Without this main scaffold being completed the rest of the work cannot finish. It is a bit like a catapillar finally turning into a butterfly. The louvres are slowly being unveiled. Curtain wall has commenced on Level 16 whilst concrete is being poured up on Level 25.. only seven floors to go before the roof starts.
